comments:
For the past year, I have been working closely with a company called iPlatform who specialise in Facebook applications. I've done design and front-end build for a large number of their biggest clients, including Moby, The Economist, Swatch, Volvo, Unicef, Cobra(beer), Nestlé, Boots, Ministry of Sound, Western Union and Comic Relief to mention a few.

The coding has mostly consisted of HTML, CSS and Javascript.

brief:
Noragent, a Norwegian import company, needed a relatively inexpensive website with an extensive, easy-to-use backend and a flexible frontend.

comments:
The end-product is a wordpress based site that uses an accordion-style layout, in some ways similar to this site, to allow the pages to carry vast and varying amounts of content while retaining a similar page-length and reducing the need for scrolling.

The CMS is a heavily modified version of wordpress with several new features added, including drag-and-drop reordering of posts.

02: Dansens hus [08.2008] screenshot gallery expand this section

brief: Complete re-build of website and CMS for the Norwegian center for contemporary dance.

comments: I provided a fully tailor-made CMS, frontend re-build with some design updates and all server set-up. The CMS features, amongst other things, tool-tips for all functionality, javascript image cropping and live content preview while editing articles. Because the main reason behind the commission was the unnecessary complexity and awkward user interface of the old CMS, usability and simplicity was the main focus throughout this project.

brief:

The lovely and talented fashion photographer Ina Damli needed branding and a simple, but eye-catching portfolio-website. I designed and built this site with simplicity and subtlety in mind.

05: L'Oreal Tecni.Art [03.2008] launch website expand this section

brief:
This project consisted mainly of building the designs provided by the digital marketing agency Fullsix in Flash and tweaking them to make the concept work in practical terms. We put a lot of effort into ensuring that the site worked with slower computers in spite of the ambitious interface and bitmap-laden content.

comments:
The site features some nifty things, like dynamically changing load-order based on the users actions and auto-centering of the content relative to the browser window. I wrote the very simple physics function in actionscript that controls the behaviour of the "canvas" interface and constructed the canvas landscape.

06: Ridingclub Championships [03.2008] expand this section

brief:
Artplant was launching the worlds first massive multiplayer horse-riding game and needed a website with an online payment and subscription system, direct communication with their game server and user accounts linked into a proper forum.

comments:
The target audience for the site was predominantly girls in their early teens, so I did a feminine, lighthearted design while trying not to seem condescending as I felt an important aspect of the job was to make the girls feel like they where taken seriously. It was a very fun project as we got a lot of positive feedback from the users.

On this site I did art direction, design, front-end development and the payment system.

07: Paul Weston [03.2008] screenshot gallery expand this section

brief:
One of the first projects we did as Fyord was the website for legendary stuntman Paul Weston. Having worked on titles like Aliens, Star Wars, James Bond, Indiana Jones and so many more, Paul wanted an online showcase of his life and work. It was a great honour to art direct and build this site and Paul is a really good guy.

brief:
I got the pleasure of designing the identity and website for Fyord, the collective I run together with Qrupa.

comments:
The big advantage of using a javascript accordion with this style of layout is that if the user has javascript disabled, the boxes simply won't collapse so the content is browsable like a vertically scrolling blog.
